This series consists of letters, petitions, publications, and comments to John Foster Dulles from Japanese citizens and businesses thanking him and the United States for their efforts in assisting the formation of a new Japanese government, rearmament, and postwar economy. Some of the letters are in Japanese. The records were created and maintained by John Foster Dulles, while he was serving as both the Consultant to the Secretary of State and the Special Representative of the President regarding the Japanese Pease Treaty. The records were transferred to the Office of Northeast Asian Affairs in 1953.
